old jeans with holes in the knees

My jeans always wear out in the knees before anywhere else. If you also have this problem, what do you do with them? (There's only so many pairs of cut-off jeans shorts I can have, and I don't really think they suit me anyway. )

Patch them? I do if I like the jeans. Cut out a patch of denim from another old pair. Copydex it to the inside, neaten hole with scissors. Easy. I do it with all DS's trousers too as he wears his out in horribly quick time..

I am currently wearing a pair of jeans with a hole in the knee - can't bring myself to get rid yet, and they ripped as a result of a fall so they aren't 'worn out' yet either.

I am in denial about being too old to wear ripped jeans I expect

I think I am probably too old for ripped jeans too, but I usually wear them for a while as I hardly ever get round to buying myself new clothes.

I will try patching them, thanks for the tip smee.
