Old feather pillow - dare I replace cover?

I bought a second hand feather cushion with the intention of replacing the outer cover. I now see the inner that holds the feathers in has also seen better days.

What do you think? Is it actually doable to move the feathers into a new inner cover or am I just asking for touble?

Advice or tips much appreciated!

Is it possible to make a new inner cover and just put it over the old cover without removing it, or is that going to be bulky or problematic? If you really need to make a new cover I'd make the new one first and leave a big enough stuffing hole, then carefully open the olde inner (big enough for a fist to remove a handful at a time with minimum spillage... that's the plan anyway!) and carefully remove feathers from the olde and stuff them immediately into the new. Maybe even do it underneath/inside a clear plastic bag to keep any spillage contained whilst at the same time beign able to see what you're doing???

I think it is do-able, but it could get rather messy and sneezy!!
