Gluing down a skeleton leaf...

Is the only way to do this neatly with spray adhesive?

I tend to cheat and use an embellishment of some kind and glue down underneath that and down the spine. My spray mount can is sitting unused on my craft tablebut I believe that it does give a better finish-so I am told!

I hate spray mount (I have a can somewhere...) smells awful and I get in a terrible mess with it! PVA leaves shiney marks and little glue dots don't stick properly.
