What paint to put footprints on linen / muslin??

I got the idea from somewhere on here but I want to paint the DCs feet and get the to stand on a piece of muslin / calico / linen that I have and then have it framed for DH for his birthday.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to do this including best materials, the paint that I should use and anything else that springs to mind???

DC2 is going to be 11 months so it's going to be very hard to ensure a good print....any tips there??

Also if we do have a DC3, is it bad form to have something precious like this done with only 2 of them?

....thinking long term here

I have done this with standard fabric paint you can buy in any art supply shop. Worked really well, and has withstood lots of washes (cotton jersey hand and foot prints on t-shirt for daddy ).

Crosspost, sorry!

Yep, we have done it with first 2, and feel now have to do another one with all 4.
There is nothing to stop you from having another go, IMO!

oh that's great thank you very much. Very good to know it withstands washing!!

Has anyone else done this on a different material?
