Anyone remember this craft activity from 30 odd years ago...?!

30 years!!

I've often wondered whether this was something you can still get in the shops.

Right, you made these little flower shapes, with petals, out of thin wire of some kind. Then, you dipped it in some sort of coloured liquid, thickish.
So for a petal you had a loop of wire, with a thin film of liquid in it, like on a bubbble blowing wand.
The coloured liquid film dried out, and you were left with a translucent film which was relatively sturdy, and you could wire it together with other petals to make a flower.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Does it have a name, and is it still around??

I remember this! I didn't have it but my friend did and I was . I used to go round to make flowers and sometimes she'd let me take one home.

There was another thing, a bit like this, where you got a blob of plastic stuff on the end of a plastic tube and blew it into a semi-permanent bubble, a bit like glass blowing. They'd deflate after a few weeks though.

Can't remember what either of them were called, sorry.

my dd has the balloon blowing plasticky thing in the last 5 years, can't remember what it's called though! I'm too young to remember 30 odd years ago - sounds lush though.
