I have to go into work this week for 2 days, I am making a cloth name book for a friends DD who is 1 on saturday. It involves applique, 7 letters and 7 pictures, and applique is a relatively new skill for me
Choices are
a)finish it quickly tomorrow and send it so it is there on time, done but not meticulously

b)Take my time next week and over weekend so it is perfect, let her know it will be late and send it next week

Another saying take your time.

If its rushed you might compromise on your artistry and the finished effect, and the child might not even like it.

Far better to take your time.

What a lovely friend you are

Lovely idea

PlumBumMum · 01/04/2009 19:42

take your time, you don't always have to squeeze things into 24 hours

JackBauer · 01/04/2009 20:15

Thanks! It is a new thing I am trying out, it is basically some cotton sheeting cut into 'pages' with a felt letter and shape on each page, so C and a cow, I have Orange, elephant, heart, igloo (that'll be fun to applique), monkey and an apple

So I have ironed them on wiht some bondaweb but have to sew around each one. It'll take frigging hours

Lovely name!

I agree, take your time

JackBauer · 02/04/2009 19:26

It is a gorgeous lovely traditional name, so I wanted something with her name on, as she might not find too much as she gets older!
