DD came home from school today, needs to decorate a hard boiled egg for Thursday. Only rule is that it must be Australian themed (something about it being the current topic at school). All suggestions and instructions are gratefully received. I am not very arty so the easier the better

kangaroo?

andiem · 31/03/2009 17:05

try doing a dot design like this here quite easy we used the end of the paint brush to do similar

can you just dye it brown and surround it with a big kangaroo shape so it looks like a pouch for a joey?

Why? Make it look like a kolala? Whenever we have anything international at DS school all the aussies do things with a 'surfer dude' theme.

The australian equivalent of our Easter Bunny is a Bilby (small marsupial) Google a pic and see if you can copy that onto an egg.

DumbledoresGirl · 31/03/2009 17:35

Done it for you!

andiem · 31/03/2009 17:41

DG that explians why my aussie friend sends chocolate bilbys
this year however we have 2 wombats and a tim tam egg yum

My sons are passionate about the save the bilby fund and have several toy bilbies they were given/bought themselves as the money for them goes towards the fund. They would love chocolate bilbies - although thinking about it, they might not want to eat them!

Thanks for all those suggestions. Easiest to do in such short space of time is the aboriginal art/flag so she is setting up the paints and hopefully will have the project completed by bed time. Thanks again

like andiem, I would suggest aboriginal patterns. My dd painted rocks like this (years ago). They used cotton buds.

I would love to see one that looks like a koala bear .

haha west3... I have only just read your last post and seen that you did that . Great!

Turn it upside down?
