Embroidery hoops

Is there an optimum size (my piece is 12" * 16" - but will be taken out between uses so it doesn't mark)

Is there a range of qualities.

are you asking about the quality of hoops? and what is 'taken out between uses'... ok, i do loads of embroidery with my art and i'm sure i could answer your question, just not sure what you're asking.

Yes I am asking about quality.

Also my instrctions recommend removin ght epiece from a hoop when not actually sewing as the hoop marks the fabric. So I wonder whether this means that I don't actually need a particularly large hoop as I can move it as required.

I have done loads of cross sticth in the past but I have never got on with a hoop. I want to try with this piece though as it is on a high count aida and is particulalry exquisit.
