stuck with knitting anyone help me?

fairly new to knitting, have sussed out how to increase a stitch on a knit row by knitting into the back but how do i increase ona purl row?
i keep ending up with two extra stitches instead of one!

Hi, I usually just purl into the back of the stitch and then the front, although i think i have just worked it out for myself. HTH

You do it in exactly the same way as increasing on a knit row, by knitting into the front, then the back of the stitch.

Have you seen www.knittinghelp.com? They have load of videos that are really useful when you need to SEE what to do and there is no one around to show you.

What you are trying to do is PFB (Purl front and back in this case, rather than Precious First Born!)

There are load of other ways to increase, but if I was you, I'd ignore them for now until you become a more confident knitter.
