Is it very difficult to learn to use a sewing machine?

I buy alot of things that I think would be simple to make, like buggy liners and such.

Theres a sewing machine in tesco reduced for £80 to £28 (or similar!)

Do you think I could learn? I have a vauge memory of being crap at it in school though!

I would love to make very simple dresses for DD too!

Easy peasy! And it sounds a bargain that I wouldn't be able to resist.

I learnt on an ancient Singer from the 1960's. They are much easier now.

Nooooo it isnt difficult - as long as you have an instruction book for the machine you are using (preferably in intelligable English)

Sewing is easy when you now how. I find it is a lot to do with confidence

A good sewing book can be useful too

The sewing in straight lines is easy enough to learn, so buggy liners etc would be very straightforward. Less sure about dresses etc.

This one appears to have some nice ideas in it and is aimed at beginnerssewing in no time

Some books are "How to sew"
Some are full of projects and detailed instructions - as the book above
Some are projects with complicated instructions - I ignore those!

Thankyou!

Might have to give it a go!
