Oilcloth (or PVC coated cotton) - can it be sewn?

I was thinking about making replacement seat pads for DS1 and DS2's trip trap chairs, and have been considering using a wipe clean fabric (for obvious reasons) - can I sew oilcloth on my sewing machine (with an upholstery needle maybe)?

Yes

Oh that was quick!

That is excellent news...I have a lovely old 80's Pfaff machine and I don't want to break it.

The covers I bought for the trip trap chairs have been washed so much one of them is all holey

DH will tell me off for starting another project after abandoning my patchwork blanket (I just couldn't get my blocks to line up properly)
