I wouldn't mind the knitting, but had a look for a pattern and the latest offer on the knitting pattern was £10.50 and still had some time to run.
How big would he have to be?

KnitterInTheNW · 01/03/2009 17:58

I think I might have a kipper the dog pattern stashed away somewhere... let me go and look while DS is in the bath (supervised by DH!)

KnitterInTheNW · 01/03/2009 18:11

Hmmm, no, can't find it. Sorry! I'll keep having a think where it might be though.

KnitterInTheNW · 01/03/2009 18:24

It was a woman's weekly pattern I think from possibly 1994, you could maybe get in touch with the magazine and see if they have any back copies?

GroovyChic · 01/03/2009 22:15

thanks for your replies.

Dutch, Thank you for offering. I'm thinking about 18 inches tall'. I've also had a look on ebay and the patterns seem to go for silly money. Is ebay the only place to get hold of these?

Knitter, thanks for having a look. I will look into contacting the magazine but don't hold out much hope as I just did a quick online search and back issues only go back to 2006.

You could try posting on here to ask if anyone cas a copy that could be borrowed?

KnitterInTheNW · 02/03/2009 10:01

Oh. It doesn't seem to exist any more!

GroovyChic · 02/03/2009 11:33

Thanks Knitter for you help. Any other suggestions, hehe

Do you want me to ask on Ravelry? Or join that yourself and ask? it only takes a few days now to join.

GroovyChic · 03/03/2009 09:43

Hi Dutch, I assume that's a knitting forum, if you don't mind asking that would be much appreciated.

In the meantime I've asked Dh to ask DS's nursery, as the Kipper at nusery was apparently knitted by a parent a few years ago.

I've had a result already, but from someone in Australia. She has offered to lend me her pattern. I've offered to pay for postage.

GroovyChic · 03/03/2009 22:34

Sounds promising.

Can you email me on happywith2 AT yahoo DOT co DOT uk

thanks

I am having trouble with my computer again in that I cannot see my inbox, or send messages. I'll try again tonight or tomorrow, I've been having trouble for weeks and thought that by calling in a computer doctor it would be solved but not a bit of it. I'm sure the inbox is there, but I just cannot see it and can't do system restore to yesterday either for some daft reason. I'm out all day today, but will have another look later.

GroovyChic · 04/03/2009 10:56

Had a reply from w.weekly. Unfortunately, they no longer have copies left. The company that did have copyright to this character ceased trading about 8 yrs ago

KnitterInTheNW · 04/03/2009 12:29

So... If the pattern no longer has copyright, (or would it be Alan Dart (the man who designed it) that has copyright?) then it would be ok for someone to just scan the pattern and email it?

DutchOma · 04/03/2009 21:13
