Any recommendations for shops/websites to buy nice fabric for quilting?

I'm just getting into quilting and can't find any decent websites or local shops for the type of thing I'm looking for - good quality fabrics.
Can anyone recommend any websites or fabric shops in the London area for that type of thing?
Doesn't have to be specifically for quilting, but any kind of fabric/haberdashery shop.
Thanks

I don't know about shops in London but I know a few good on-line ones. How about -

Cotton Patch Great fabric and all sorts of gizmos and gadgets that you don't know you need until your have them.

Sunflower Fabrics They have some lovely packs.

Strawberry Fayre They don't do fabrics on line as such. You buy a charm pack with tiny samples of each fabric and then buy mail order. They do a great range of solid colours

The Tabbycat I've not used these people but I always think their site looks good.

And then there are a few ebay shops but these are my favourites

Cottonsquares Patchwork Fabric As their names suggest they are great for squares and some FQ and Fat Eights.

Carols Patchwork and Quilting Gorgeous colour combinations and great for squares, FQ and jelly rolls.

JB Sewing Box They do half metres or larger. Good selection.

New Threads Quilt Shop I have seen these people at quilt shows and they have some nice stuff.

Also
The Crafty Quilter Has a small range but some different fabrics
EuroJapan Links has some lovely Japanese cottons.

You'll be wanting one of the fat quarter storage bags that Cotton Patch sells

I got an email yesterday (I am on mailing lists somehow) about a Stitch and Creative Crafts Show at Excel in London next weekend and I was wondering if they had patchwork and quilting exhibitors and sellers. They don't really although there are a couple of fabric sellers but not worth a trip if that is the only craft you are interested in.

However, quilt shows generally are a good place to get fabric is you can find one. Sandown Park has one in June which is usually lovely and Alexandra Palace has a knitting and stitching show in October. There are quilt shows in Cambridge, Malvern, the NEC and Haywards Heath if you fancy traveling further afield.

Whilst having a browse around as a result of looking at shows I also found this. The shop is in Kew. I don't know if this is your part of London but it looks good.

Thanks FL.
Niecie, I never even thought about going to a crafts show but what a fab idea, even if you don't go along to buy anything it's probably great for ideas and inspiration. Ooh I'm so excited about my quilting/crafty future
