My 2 1/2 year old loves painting and sticking etc but his Dad and I are incredibly unarty. Anyone able to help?

Have you tried the Usborne Books website?. I got this one for my DS for Christmas that is really good. the projects in it are aimed at an older child, but it'll give you and your DH a good idea of where to start.

or this thread might come in handy. I haven't opened the link on it though so not sure.

My ds is also painting/sticking mad and tbh at the moment we just let him get on with it, without any specific aim or project.

I have tried making butterflies with him though (inspired by the cBeebies Charlie & Lola site!) which he enjoyed (though not that much more than pottering about with figerpaints..):

Fold a sheet of paper in half and cut out half a butterfly shape with the body on the fold line. Get dd to decorate half the body with big splodges of paint. Fold in half and press down. Unfold and voila! a big mess a beautiful butterfly!
