I am taking part in a craft gift swap on another site and the person I am sending to has 4 girls (only as in I want to make something for them all! Not that ther are 4!)

Ages are 9, 7, 3 and 8 months old.

I can do a superhero cape for the 3.5 yr old and some form of soft toy for the baby, and then I run out of ideas.
Would a 7.5 yr old like I spy bags?
I can sew fairly well, can make bags etc but not great at clothes.
I can crochet and knit as a beginner. Am making some wrist warmers as a project so can send them to the 9.5 yr old.

Any other ideas though? thanks!

Crochet beanie hats with crochet flowers attached?
The internet is full of free crochet patterns and they make up really quickly, which is always good

Oohhh, and if you can crochet, check out amigurumi for the 3yr old and the baby - so cute and you generally only need to know how to crochet the double crochet (american single crochet) stitch (lion brand website has tons of free patterns)!

Ooh, I like. Shall have a go.
Anyone have girls that age and fancy measuring their heads for me?!

I know - I am an amigurumi addict (as is my 3yr old daughter)!

JackBauer · 05/02/2009 20:42

How long does one take you? An evening? 2?(obviously not an MNing evening...)

How long does it take to make an amigurumi? Well, not very long really. I have made the penguin on the lion brand website and I think that took an evening. More complicated ones would take 2 evenings.

Tip - as they are crocheted in one continuous spiral, a stitch marker will come in very, very useful!

thanks, might have a go at one tomorrow. Tonight is a dead loss
