Where can I buy scrap fabric?

I'd like to get a small (about 20cm x 20cm) piece of pink lining fabric to line a bag I knitted for my dd1. Is there any online source selling at reasonable prices?

Where do you live? There must be a fabric shop in your local town. John Lewis always sells scarps so does the Curtain fabric shop.
Or go into a charity shop and look around for something you can cut-up.

CAT me, I made a mistake in an online order and have 3m of pink fake silky stuff taking up room in my fabric box, you are welcome to a bit!

That's kind of you - I need to check if I ever did sign up to CAT.

is ok, I needed a 2m length of half the width IYSWIM and just have all this bright pink satin (i remembered the word!) and nothing to do with it!

I have CAT'ed you, I thought mine had run out but it doesn't for 2 weeks!

Charity shops always take in fabric. If it isn't sold, it goes to the 'rag-man', where it's recycled.

Have a chat with a few of your local shops, and see what they've got in bin liners out the back.

It might not help you with your bit of pink, but if you're into crafts, it might be a useful thing to know for future projects.

Thanks Des, that's helpful.
Jack, I did CAT you as well.

If you have a Remnant Kings near you, they are great as well. I'm not sure if it's just a Scottish chain though.

Try freecycle too - people often have stuff like that lying around. I just sent loads of spare buttons to a lady knitting cardies for the prem baby unit....
