Knitting pattern needed: hat like the heroine in "39 steps" on TV at Xmas

Hi,

I am heavily pg and therefore have little spare brain power to work out my own pattern, and was wondering if any Mnettters had seen the grey knitted beret that the heroine in TV adaptation of "39 Steps" wore (before she started lusting after Rupert Penry Jones and his toned pecs). Think it was in dark grey with a cable twist in it and poss a small tassle at the top?

Just wondered if any of you had seen the prog and seen similar in a book, mag or website? I've been doing some knitting for small children, and selfishly would rather like to make something for me. Although I have to ask myself "when?" as I am now 34 wks and desperately hoping that baby does not go overdue!

Or good search terms for Knitty for such a pattern/description - still getting used to the site as don't get to go on much.

TIA.

I watched it, but I can't think what her beret looked like, and I can't track down a picture. Your description did remind me of this rather lovely looking pale gray hat with a cable up the side (although more of cloche than a beret) which is in a book called Boutique Knits. I saw several other people's finished projects of this hat on Ravelry the other day, and am contemplating getting the book for this alone.

Ooooh I do like the twenties look of the hats. I like the fair isle with beads one one in yellow/blue also.

Thank you so much for adding a message. I'm going to have to play around with search terms on Knitty and Ravelry etc, but it's difficult searching for images using words IYKWIM!

Happy knitting - looks like a lovely book.......the alpaca bow scarf was rather yummy.........!
