Putting knitting together - guidance please

I've now finished knitting the bag and need to sew it up - do I now press out the curled up edges, try to lay it flat, fold in half and sew on the wrong side and then turn bag inside out when finished?

Yes! A few pins might help keep the two sides together whilst you are actually sewing.

Also lightly spraying the pieces with water and then gently ironing to size will help with the sewing. Curly edges are a pain!
