painting on ceramic coasters

I have bought some plain coasters from baker ross for my kids to decorate - can i just paint on the coasters with normal paint as I don't have any porcelain/ceramic paint just glass paint and then varnish over to protect the decoration?

Hmmm - probably, but I don't know how long it would last. I think if you explain to the receivers that they should just be wiped with a damp cloth and not immersed in water then they should be ok. And obviously don't put them in the oven!
