I bought some hand made cards from a mumsnetter and they are FABULOUS!

I get through a lot of cards, and on a whim contacted someone on here to see if they would be interested in making some cards for me. I chose the cards I wanted from a selection on the website.

I've just received them today and they are beautiful, very carefully made, and fantastic value compared to highstreet shop prices.

I won't mention names, so as not to be accused of advertising. But if you are thinking of buying some cards, why not consider doing what I did?

Excellent idea Roisin

paolosgirl · 23/03/2005 17:55

Could you let me know who you bought them from? I love buying cards that are one-offs, and it would be good to have a recommeded site. Thanks!

nutcracker · 23/03/2005 18:06

Hulababy · 23/03/2005 18:37

Is it not possible for regular memebers to be allowed to advertise stuff like this? It's a shame really if not.

Freckle · 23/03/2005 18:40

Please CAT me too, AuntyQuated. I get through a lot of cards and despair at the rubbish in the shops being sold at extortionate prices.

sunnygreetings · 23/03/2005 18:41

i did try emailing MN, about 3 weeks ago about it, as im sure all us card makers would do ok out of it, but i got no reply, i would say that the majority of us cardmakers havent started it up as 'business', therefore i dont think the £25 is justified.

desperatehousewife · 23/03/2005 18:42

I would love to see your website too. I have just started selling cards too - cards to celebrate the major events in a family's life.

Hulababy · 23/03/2005 18:42

That was what I was thinking sunnygreeting. The £25 fee would be way too much to justify it. Could it not be limited to MN members who have subscribed to MN already, and have been a member for xx number of days?

sunnygreetings · 23/03/2005 18:44

hulababy, yes thats a good idea, even though i wouldnt benefit from it, i only found this site about a month ago, and its taken me all this time pluck up courage and 'join in'

Hulababy · 23/03/2005 18:46

But you could benefit from it in a relative short period of time - and it would encourage you to keep joinng in

AuntyQuated · 23/03/2005 18:52

Advertising is allowed on here isn't here?! EVERYTHING is allowed on here (within reason) so its seems!

SleepyJess · 23/03/2005 19:08

Auntyquated, can you link to your site on here please?

anorak · 23/03/2005 19:40

I'd also like to show mine, if there was some waiver or lowering of the fee.

Perhaps we could start a communal shop?
