I want to make DD a poncho but I'm not sure how to go about it - any ideas please?

I bought some of this by mistake a while ago and haven't had a clue what to do with it. I thought maybe I could make a poncho out of it lined with fleece to keep DD warm in the sling and walking. Not sure how to do it though. I'd like it to have a hood, and not be too long as DD is only 16 months and quite short for her age. Has anyone seen a pattern, or got any idea how I'd make one? I'm ok at sewing but not fabulous so it'd have to be simple TIA

here is a basic very easy pattern. It doesn't have a hood though. You would have to work that bit out yourself!!

Thanks guys. Do you think I could adapt one of the cape patterns by sewing 2 semicircles together or do you think that would be too big?

I should think 2 semi circles would work, as long as your fabric is not too bulky. If it's too thick or stiff it won't drape properly.
