What about a small straight bit of wood - like thin dowelling, with one of those tiny screws (that you get on the end of wire for hanging net curtains up with) screwed into the middle?

TrinityRhino · 05/12/2008 20:38

hmmm thin doweeling, thats a good idea

If you cut it into little sections, sanded the ends then cup hook thingoids in the middle.

What are you using for the rail?

TrinityRhino · 05/12/2008 20:51

ok I got confused and thought you meant dowelling for the rail

is the florist wire a non starter of an idea then?

I get what you mean aboiut the dowelling now I've thought about it

I'm just getting over flu atm and head not working

and aren't they just cup hooks?

I was thinking about the little coathangers but you could make them out of pipecleaners and use the dowelling for the rail.

TrinityRhino · 05/12/2008 20:56

oooooh pipecleaners never thought of them

thanks

A couple more ideas - a shoebox covered with fancy paper for the wardrobe (stop me for thinking like Ma Walton)

and

hang the wardrobe doors by using, and I'm going to make a right arse of myself here but those fancy paper clip things that open up either side but have a brass top.

TrinityRhino · 05/12/2008 21:46

WE KNWO WHAT YOU MEAN
I think

they sound like bloody brilliant ideas

thankyou very much gentleotter
will let you know how I get on

fancy paperclip things are called "brads" nowadays if you are a scrapbooker or i'm pretty sure you can get the traditional; brass ones in whsmiths HTH

TLESinChristmasStockings · 07/12/2008 17:34

you can buy some 20 gauge wire, about 8 yards on the roll. you can use it to make miniature coat-hangers, flowers and shapes
and it is only about 32 a roll.

asicsgirl · 10/12/2008 10:14

ooh are they called brads? i have wondered that for 30 years...
