I want to convert a little cupboard into a toy cooker for dd but am having trouble thinking of what to use as knobs to make a satisfying click sound. Any ideas anyone?

You could buy magnetic door closers from the DIY store - they make a nice sound when they close and you get a good tug to open them too.

I found great toy paint on this website. They have lots of other extras, but I think a dimmer switch would make the noise or what about finding a toy in a charity shop that you could deconstruct and just use the noisy knob part!

I am trying to make ours look like the John Lewis advert that DS covets!

Any suggestions for the clock?

alittleteapot · 01/12/2008 21:12

Blackrock, that's the one I'm trying to copy too! well, not copy but it's going to be red anyway. what about making the clock out of a paper plate and plastic knife and fork for hands (culinary theme and all that...)
good thoughts on the knobs. how funny that a few of us are making kitchens! never thought that when i posted... maybe we should post pics when we've finished.

I thought we were alone too!! Ours is almost finished, I have two little curtains at the front instead of doors...
