Dingle,

I know I am being cheeky but I am so crap at making cards and I want to have a determined effect to make some for the family thin 2009 (first birthday Feb 09)

Any chance of a basic tutorial for one of your beatiful cards (or links to good craft sites.

In particular I wanted to know ....

How do you print the tags ? Are they A4 card which go though the printer or is there a clever way of using pre cut tags ?

Is the 'sewing' borders draen on by hand or a transfer.

How do you cut out your stamps ?

I intent to have a go for myself and not even attempt to copy your fab ones, but I need some pointers.

I do tat (finger lace with a hook and shuttle) and I was wondering if I could tat some small flowers and maybe starch them, would they work as centre pieces on a card ?

Thanks in advance

Hi BabiesEverwhere - I do card making also (when I have the time). There are some very good magazines out there which provide all your toppers etc you'd need to get started. Also if you have access to Sky or Cable TV the create and craft channel is FULL of ideas, so is their web site.

You can buy stamps that are precut and you mount them onto a clear block, or you can buy them already mounted usually onto wood. The clear ones are good because you can see where you are placing the stamp.

Your tat idea sound really lovely and would be very individual. Nearly anything can be used - what makes a card special is the time someone has spent creating them! The hardest part I find is deciding what to do!

I have done sewing boarders by using a stamp, but you can get as good results by hand drawing them with a quality fibre tip pen.

Also some card shops do workshops.

Have fun!

I am hoping to do a few more "tutorial" type posts on my blog....my cards take time but aren't difficult.

Your tatted flowers sound divine....please let me see them when they are done. I need something for my cards and although I knit, I am hopeless at crochet ( I am left handed and get all in a muddle!)

I have some cards to make, I need one for a design team project Blog on Friday so I will aim to answer a few questions, step by step then.

The sewn borders are drawn on...I do very occassionally get the sewing machine out as I love the texture of sewing on my cards, but I seldom have the time!

Thanks Daisy and Dingle

I'll look at the weblink, post a picture of my tatting at some point over the weekend and look forward to a Blog tutorial soon
