I'm trying to make cards, etc and would like to know if there is a way of doing this?

Oh, goodness- I did have the codes somewhere to put make a gold, silver and copper colour print, but not sure where the codes are now.

The colours are OK, but if you want a raised metallic effect you can also use embossing powder and a heat gun if you are quick off the mark.

Dingle can you explain a bit more about "codes".

I teach graphics, and we would love to be able to print off in metallics but don't lnow how

Put these codes into Word (Font colour; more colour; click on Custom Tab then enter codes)
Gold: Red=192, Green=168, Blue=104
Deeper Gold: Red=165, Green=138, Blue=82
Silver: Red=151, Green=151, Blue=168
Copper: Red=205, Green=115, Blue=0

Not great but does the trick

But does that print off in metallic...don't you need special ink for that?

Dingle · 25/11/2008 17:26

No it won't print off metallic, only a gold tone, silver tone...etc.

Depending on the font, size and quality of print you are able to emboss straight from the printer by using an embossing powder and heat gun. This will give you raised, metallic text but is fiddly and you can only print out a few at a time so that the ink doesn't dry before you get a chance to get the metallic embossing powder on!

LOL...far too much fiddling around for me, I tend to put all my detail in my card and use a nice simple black or brown text. You can always make you text look fancier by layering it onto a coloured mat.

Hope that helps. You can see what I mean here
