Ds1 made a jam pot at pre-school. They don't have a kiln there, so he brought it home and it was still wet. I have left it on the kitchen work top to dry out, but I am assuming I would need to bake it in the oven to fire it?
Can you do this in a domestic oven?
He wants to decorate it as well, can he do this with ordinary paint?
I dn't think it will actually get used for jam, so it doesn't need to be washable or anything, i just want him to feel like i appreciate it!

when did he make it? i expect it's air drying clay which would take about a day

He made it a couple of weeks ago, so it should be dry by now.
So you don't think it will need baking in the oven?

it's air drying clay

leave it alone till dry, the paint with ordinary paint and 'varnish' with PVA glue when dry

do not use for jam!

Thanks that's great!
It does feel pretty solid now, so i'll let him loose with the paints on it!
