DD is quite slim and has a few pairs of trousers that are too loose on the waist. They're mostly heavier weight fabrics like denim. The buttons are your typical jeans stud so not really movable. What's the best way to tighten the waistbands so they'll fit her? Or do I just have to feed her lots of chocolate ?

I've got a machine but am a novice. I'm not to bothered about how they look as she normally wears longer tops. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

do they have an elasticated waist?

if they do and they elastic is not sewn into the seams you need to unpick a bit of the waistband so you can pull the elastic out a bit and cut and sewback together. then resew waistband seam.

if the elastic is sewn into the seam its a bit of a bugger

no elastic in the waistband. can you unpick a bit of waistband and thread some elastic thu using a safety pin?

do the trousers have belt loops? you can make a small belt out of coloured elastic and get a plastic snap closing thing for it. I have done quite a few of these for DS is nice nice wide coloured elastics and got some snap close things cheap at the markets.

failing all of that you could if you are not to bothered by the look stretch and sew some elastic to the inside of the waistband. you would need a matching thread colour to make it look ok.

i hope that gives you some ideas.
