There's a lovely one in a supplement from a recent knitting magazine - ribbed skirt and a wee ribbon through the waist.

You would be best to join Ravelry where there are hundreds of patterns. Here are a few...

princess dress

sweater dress

wrap dress

rainbow dress

strappy dress

There are so many more on Ravelry!

Yes, are you on Ravelry yet?

we are going to kill the mumsnet knitters by dragging everyone on to ravelry.

There are some nice dresses in the Miss Bea books by Louisa Harding - they are a few years old now so you could probably pick one up cheap.
