Where can I buy that beige/brown string that's slightly hairy??

Parcel string?? and i also need some very think wire to curl round it so that I can make it stiff!

The hairy string is generally made of jute...and I buy mine from the organic gardening catalogue...!

the pipe cleaner I mentioned before might staple on to the undrside of a fircone, or superglue on ? then it'd be bendy and save you trying to attach wire and string .. or a piece of grey felt,wrapped round a piece of jewellery/craft wire?

The pipe cleaner doesn't look right - not classy enough but does stick on beautifully with wood glue!

Ah - craft wire - presumably found in craft shops?!

Thank you Miggsie - that's exactly the stuff and now I know what it's made of, I've managed to find tons of it on eBay - I had no idea that it came in colours too!!
