I would like to make Christmas presents with the DCs but not sure what to make. Suggestions or ideas please!

Money is tight atm as it is for most people, plus DD is at an age now where she loves making stuff so thought it would be a good idea to mix the two and make our own special presents for family and close friends. However, I am stuck for ideas.

Any advice, suggestions, ideas, tips?

Have done loads of things like this but mind gone blank as I need to dash. Will come back later.

Food presents are always good - eg biscuits, chocolates etc in nice boxes. I keep all sorts of pretty empty food containers. What about glass painting? You buy special glass paints and can decorate tumblers (from charity shops) or jam jars and put a tea light inside. You then bake them in the oven. (Take the candle out first.)

We did salt dough ornaments they painted and put glitter on.

We also do homemade mincemeat pies.

Well, I do the pastry in the food processor and they roll it out, cut out the cirlces for the bottoms and stars for the tops and add in spoonfuls of mincemeat.

Sil takes dd weekly to pottery and yesterday they came home with some fab painted tree decorations. You could buy your own clay and do the same.

we are making bird feeders in a circular shape. Made from garden wire with monkey nuts threaded along. I finish it with a bow and they look fab hanging up in the garden.

Last year I did hand/foot angels, this year will do reindeer. Parents loved them.

Might also try the hot chocolate / sweetie cone idea using bags from Lakeland.

Or the Gifts in a Jar idea (have been saving jam jars for a month now for this one!)

Some ornaments for the tree in Fimo clay?

We usually bake biscuits / shortbreads or make assorted chocolate truffles rolled in different toppings. (chopped nuts, choc strands) and put them in a nice box with a ribbon attached.
I also like Lapins idea with the fudge, so easy to make.

buy cheap flower pots from b&q, pink with poster paint and varnish with PVA. Pot seeds. 2 activites make slovely pressies

You can make very nice necklaces and bracelets using stuff from a bead shop - simple cotton cord, a few large beads per necklace spaced and knotted along the cord, or just one large one on its own, then the hook fastening bits tied to the ends - most of the stuff only costs a few pence.

We made baths salts last year (bicarbonate of soda mixed with coarse sea salt or epsom salts and coloured with food colouring) and put it in jam jars we saved up over the year. If you add different colours of food colouring to different batches you can do stripey jars.
