Fantastic Dior!!
I have been busy trying to get my stock box full again because a few people have been asking. Last year I had 2 stacking boxes full, now I only have one half full! Must get off here and make some cards!
Do you prefer to just sit and make or actually have an order in mind?

dior!! have only just seen this. well done that is fantastic and you have exceeded your expectations of £50 over both nights by miles! just goes to show you undersell yourself!!! Sounded like a good couple of nights.
wedding orders are very rewarding. I done my own and then my mums. I done all her stationary and when I looked at the tables with the menus, placecards, table numbers and everything I was taken back as i tend to think my worl isn't that good. I have no doubt that you will get some orders for party invites and wedding stationary at some stage as people will see your cards and the standard is very high.

I managed to get a wedding order last year, it started with 100 invites, then got 50 thank you cards, then 100 place names, and I finished with decorating wedding albums to give as gifts to the 2 mums and 5 bridesmaids.

It was great fun, but only because I had plenty of time to do it, I had to make over 500 quilled daisies!!

dior!! wont say i told you so why not have a ;ook at some stationary websites and look at prices.

Yes, because I enjoyed making them anyway! Set up a little conveyer belt system first cut strips to size and frayed, I did that whenever I could, not to bad as I could do that in the front room, even with ds and dd around. Next came the glueing which I did of an evening and I stored the daisies all rolled up until I had nearly finished. When it came to making up the actual invites, it didn't take much time at all. All the hard work had already been done.
I think I originally quoted about £2 per invite, but this came down to more like £1.50 because I got the materials in bulk.
Absolutely love weddings and would do more at the drop of the hat, to me the time doesn't matter,as long as I cover the cost of the materials. if I enjoy making the cards and the others enjoy receiving them!

great news dior.
i think this has to be afab idea but i need to work harf to up my production to do anything near this.
i find it difficult in the winter as the room i work in is very cold during the evenings.
2 friends are coming to make cards tomorrow and have a coffee so really must go and tidy up.

i don't think i could cope with a wedding order; i would end up staying up all night the night before!! not very good with deadlines.

Dior - if you get the wedding order and need to order in bulk, have you looked at these people ? I use them a lot, they are quick and efficient and their stuff is of good quality. You can also order a sample booklet off them to look at colour/quality of card etc. Just a thought

Just a plug for Craft Creations here, it's one of my most used companies. I annually subscribe to their magazine (quarterly) with that you get a small free gift, vouchers to give you 10% off 2 orders in that quarter and £2.50 off P&P. After you have been with them and your subscription is due for a renewal you also get a voucher for 10% off the next subscription.

Well worth the £12 IMO.

I know Miaou, I had a look! Always one on the look out for recommendations, and yes, I have found their service very good too. They might not have the largest range going but for all the basics I haven't found anywhere better! (YET!)

dior, just thought i'd add that if yyou do send/show your samples it may be a good idea to copywrite. (easiest way is to send them to yourself and keep in safe place unoppened)
