Printing on cardstock. How do I ? ....

I'm keen to produce some cards/ postcards and maybe prints of my applique work. I'm not sure where to start with this so wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I am assuming I'd need to

1. take a photo of the image and tart up in photoshop if necessary
2. send image to a printers ? to print on card stock

Has anyone any recommendations of who to use to print and what sort of card stock I should use ?
Any help and advice would be very welcome

It really depends on the finish you are after, the budget, the quantity....

Experiment with a few different cards,linen finish can look quite quirky, a photo quality gloss or silky card for a more professional look.
