I am out of interesting projects. I still have a shawl to do, but would like to keep that for when we go on holiday next month.
So if anybody wants me to do something in the meantime, give me a shout.
Email address on my profile

DutchOma, you're so sweet!

(I met DO earlier this year as she was asked by a mutual MN friend to knit a baby blanket to replace one which was taken in a burglary (presumably to hide the more obviously valuable items in)).

giddykipper · 07/08/2008 17:33

Have emailed to yahoo again.

Thank you very very much :-)

Hi Littleducks, it's a bag, no arm holes, just like a little pouch really with a hood.

littleducks · 07/08/2008 21:44

brilliant thats what i want
can you cat me

DutchOma · 08/08/2008 09:40

The yahoo address does not seem to work any more.
I have catted PinkTulips, littleducks, giddykipper, and soremummy, but disenchantedplusbump has chosen not to receive cats. So you would either have to take the embargo off or send me an email address. As it happens I had some pink and white yarn and have started an extremely pretty cardi.
Let me know if I have missed anyone out, but by the look of it this will keep me happy till Christmas

I also have loads of wool that I can send to you cos I bought it and just haven't got the time withthis little monkey to do any knitting. (Wondering what I have done wrong I had 3 under 3 and knitted loads and after a 13 yr gap with this one have no time)

soremummy · 08/08/2008 12:12

Have emailed you back

soremummy · 08/08/2008 12:26

I also have a lovely cardigan that just needs buttons/rosebuds on it that I knitted with matching shoes but because I have just a skinny baby it just doesnt suit her It will probably fit age 3months I think, its white and is made from snuggly bubbly wool it will want washing just because of handling the white wool. It's like this one here if anyone wants it cat me your address and will post to you at a push I might even sew the rosebuds on

mistypeaks · 08/08/2008 12:32

DutchOma - I wish you lived closer to me. Not to knit me anything, but to help me with my knitting. Just started and want to get better!!! I keep practising!!

DutchOma · 08/08/2008 17:28

Mistypeaks, get onto Ravelry. It doesn't take that long these days and I'm sure there will be lots of Ravelers where you are, so they will help you with your knitting. In Northants we have about 25 to 30 knitters and we meet at various locations through the month and if there was anybody who would like a little help we could organise it.

Pattern for littleducks:

Hooded Pram Bag
(from Baby Bloom by Erika Knight)

w 68cm
l 70cm
tension 23 st x 30 rows = 10cm in stst on 3.75mm needles
suggested wool Rowan Wool Cotton or any medium or dk weight

on 3.75mm needles, cast on 80 st
work 360 rows in st st, marking end of row 60 and 210
finished strip = 34cm x 120cm
fold along row 210 marker and line up cast off edges with row 60 marker.
sew down both sides.
fold top section to form hood and join centre seam

If you want to finish it nicely, with 3.25mm needles, pick up 80 st along front of hood, and 60 st on each side of hood.
kint 1 row.
cast off.

(am rather confused by the fact it says it's 68cm wide, but never mind. If the strip is 34cm wide, presumably that's just like it's waist measurement!)

You can use any wool for it, as long as you do some sums to make sure it ends up 34 x 120cm, and work ou what rows you need to mark.

DutchOma · 11/08/2008 10:50

I have just had a parcel from soremummy with lots and lots of wool in it and the yarn and stuffing for the Tombliboos that dd wants (for dgrandson)
Isn't soremummy just wonderful?
