Curtain making - blind hem question.

Do i really need a blind hem foot or will it work with a std foot?

Um - don't know, I always hand-sew my curtain hems so that the stitches don't show!

You could fold the hem back and use a zigzag stitch across the fold so that it just "pinches" a bit from the curtain, but you would have to be confident I think (and I guess it would be best to practice first!)

You need a blind hem foot.

If you hem with a standard foot the stitches will be standard stitches, ie come through all layers of the fabric.

I also hand stitch all hems.

hi. just to update. i used the std foot and it worked! i'm far too lazy to hand sew that kind of length - hence my only requirement for buying this machine was that it did blind hem stitch.
