knitting question to help my mum please!!!

my mum in Australia has emailed me wih this question, I have no idea what she is on about so any knowledge from you knitters is very welcome!!

"There is a pattern on p 42 (April issue) that uses the wool KING COLE HOMESPUN. We don't have this here and I need to know the actual ply I should use."

King Cole comes in DK and 4ply if I remember rightly - you can find it on the Texere site here. Can you give us the gauge/tension? (how many stitches per 10cm)?

Does it give the size of needles? You can work it out from that.

3 1/4 and 4mm is double knit,

2 3/4 and 3 1/4mm is 4 ply

(oh, get me and my 3/4mms instead of .75mm!!!)
