tye-dye at kids party - what colours would you suggest - was thinking of getting the three primaries so they can mix and match and see the effects of mixing them...however this won't give pink and I believe some girl children are quite partial to that colour...

any tips on good colours combos?

also, are Dylon the best to use? I read that the item needs to be left in each colour for an hour for max benefit--- is that true? (can't remember back to my own t-d days!!!) what will effect be if we leave in for much less, like 10-15 mins? is there any faster working dye?

ta muchly

Purple always goes down well - tis good for both sexes.

I would probably say pink, purple and a bright blue.

W/r the dye - it doesn't tend to go very dark or set very well if you don't do it for the hour tbh. I think dylon is the fastest one, procion dyes give better colours but need to be left for longer.

oh well, maybe they can do one quick layer (15 mins or so) od a lighetr colour and then add some more tying and put into second colour for the full hour to dye while the rest of the party goes on...

cheers

Is it all girls coming? If so I would suggest you need pink and purple and blue

If boys coming you probably need green in there somewhere too.

i always use dylon dyes - and i'd recommend doing the whole hour myself.

colours - how about the primary colours? it's unisex then!!

over dying - if you dye the next colour you'll need to make sure the rubber bands are really tight as the dye may seep into the wet fabric.

when's the party?

girls and boys

is on on Sat 12th

think the plan is for 1.5 hours crafting so a full hour with the tshirts in the dyes is long - however I could bugger off and leave them to rinse and open them at the end...

oh it is all quite tricky - am beginning to wish I hadn't signed up for it now...

yes, I was initially thinking primaries, as with mixes of those they can get anything
