Knitters - can you recommend any pattern sites?

I am a novice knitter - 1 blanket and 2 cardigans achieved.
Are there any good websites with (free) relatively easy patterns available to download?

Some are the American version so click on the British flag. Not downloadable but printable.

www.knitty.com is a fantastic online magazine. Not all the patterns are easy but loads are and they are all rated by difficulty. It also has a forum (The Coffeeshop) which is the friendliest place on the internet, possibly the world. If you have a question about knitting, people will be falling over themselves to help. I post there a lot.

www.knittingpatterncentral.com is a huge resource of free knitting patterns but is a bit of a bugger to search.

www.ravelry.com is....well, I'm not sure how to describe it! It's a resource for knitters and crocheters where you can catalogue your stash, join groups and post on forums and search for patterns. Not all patterns are free but lots are. And you can see who else has made the pattern and read their notes etc.

Ooh Miaou started a good knitting pattern resource thread a while ago, I'll see if I can find it for you.

I'm new to mumsnet but I can certainly recommend an excellent site, try www.lionbrand.com - its american but if you register you can access over 2000 patterns - I've used many myself and they are really great! I love knitting - its about the only recreational thing I get to do! ;)
