New Sewing Machine

Hi, I've decided I'm going to have a new sewing machine for Christmas. Currently use an ancient New Home (Janome) machine that was second hand to me 15 years ago. I don't want to spend silly money, probably up to around £400. I can't decide whether to stick with a manual one, or to go for electric. Is there more to go wrong with an electric one? It's mainly for craft projects with a little bit of attempted dress making thrown in. I do have quite a few different feet for my current machine and have no idea whether they would transfer to a new machine or not. Can anyone offer advice?

The feet will only fit a new machine if it is the same make, and even then they might have changed the design. Do they even still make manual machines?

Sorry I meant mechanical vs electronic

My sewing teacher would say to absolutely go for a mechanical one. She prefers Janome. The feet may or may not be compatible with new ones.

She has something like these that she uses for her students: https://www.johnlewis.com/janome-7025-sewing-machine/p231340608

I own two of this machine for work and they are brilliant. One is 14 years old and still going strong, considering it was used 5 days a week minimum for about 11 of those years. I bought another as it is quicker than swapping feet and threads constantly, I can have two set ups.
All that said, I bought an industrial machine at the beginning on the year and that now gets used for pretty much everything. There are occasionally threads or fabrics it doesn't like though and I go back to my trusty Janome.

I have a Janome Mystyle 22 that is 34 years old and still going strong. I use it for household stuff, fixing bit, crafting and a making clothing.
If it dies I would buy the same again, the newly named one is Hd2200.
