His 'n' hers woolly slippers - fun but certainly not sexy!

I would have loved something made by a friend but I don't know what I would have done with a sampler (what's one of those?)

how lacking in cash are you?

i would buy a photo frame and put a nice pic of them in.

or make a scrapbook with pics of them in?

DeeRiguer · 02/07/2008 10:01

a sampler would be nice
better than a toaster!

sampler sounds lovely - with details of wedding date? Patchwork something?

What about their wedding cake? Our wedding was quite relaxed and when a friend offered (she's a chef yay!) we gladly accepted and it was fabulous. Might not be appropriate but thought I'd mention it just in case!

Or do a wedding book, fill it with photos of them and spaces, and take it around the guests at the reception asking them to put in a note to the couple.

Favours is a great idea - I did ours in little coloured muslin squares, tied with a ribbon. There weren't that many so I hemmed them with satin ribbon too so it all went gathered at the top. I put a choc in each one and a little bottle of bubbles (little wedding ones in teeny bottles) and a tiny toy for the children with names on the bags - (these went on the chairs in the ceremony itself so there was a little toy at the reception for the little ones as well).
It's possible to do them cheaply I think but yes they are time consuming!

kitbit · 02/07/2008 10:34

oh, and the bubbles were for using as confetti and worked really well in case anyone thinks I'm a nutter for giving people a bottle of bubbles for the ceremony!
