Where can I find someone to commission a bespoke cardigan?

Where is the best place to find someone to commission a very specific cardigan for myself. I cannot get it out of my head and I have no idea where to get someone who makes cardigans to specific requirements.

I can't knit or sew for toffee, so I think it could be quite complicated.

I have no idea where to start looking to commission someone.

Speak to woolkind in Edinburgh - they do customisations but might be amenable to a full commission. They’re nice!

or give up on your commission and go for a Colonsay Geansaidh - they do 10 a year at a cool £900 BUT they’re the single most beautiful piece of wool art I’ve ever seen (and it makes me happy to think someone somewhere might be able to afford it)

You will be looking at around £100 just for the wool then whatever the design and knitting time is at a craftpersons hourly wage so i would say an absolute min of £300.

I fully expect to be paying through the nose for a bespoke cardigan, I imagine it will be a bit more than £300, its a joint xmas/birthday present from my partner and older kids so I have a good budget for it, and its been something I've been dreaming about for years and finally lost a chunk of weight so they are treating me.

I actually did a dreaded AI mock up because I cant find anything similar online anywhere. So I'll post that.

Im wholeheartedly aware that real life won't look at all like AI, but the picture does a better job of describing it than I do.

I also know it will be very expensive, probably the £600+ mark i reckon, but its a present from 5 people for 2 occasions plus I'll throw in a bit too.

Its ridiculous but its an itch that my brain needs to scratch.

Love it! Is the frog pocket your idea or have you seen it somewhere? I don't think that this would be a particular difficult cardigan to knit.

The pocket was my idea, I've seen pockets with frogs on them but I want his mouth to be the actual pocket.

Does it look relatively doable then? I wasn't sure with the dotty mushroom top, and the frog pocket, it looks so difficult to me.

Have you tried your local facebook groups. I posted looking for someone to knit something from me. I got a huge number of people who replied. They were all people who knit as a hobby. The person I picked refused to take payment as she said she would be knitting anyway. I just supplied the wool (and gave her a voucher).

Im not on Facebook at the moment, but it sounds like it worth joining up for.

Do i just look up knitting groups and join them?

Im absolutely willing to pay, thats not an issue, it's just finding someone.
