I am currently making an Alice Starmore project from the Tudor Roses book, the pattern is both challenging and fun to make

That furs indeed look challenging! I am crocheting a couple tops, faintly straightforward though rather than make two panels I’ve decided to make it in one with a buck hole and repeating the pattern Fuen the others use. This worked well with my first one as it was the same stitch throughout but I’ve just realised I’ll have to make my stitches upside down on the second side as I used a few different ones which are directional (like a shell stitch though I didn’t do a shell stitch) and I haven’t figured out how to do that yet!

I just pulled the neckband off a Drops design 'cranberry smoothie' short sleeved top and am about to re-knit it because the first attempt was flared and didn't sit right. I am also doing the odd poppy here and there for our local 2026 poppy appeal and I am planning on starting a jumper which will hopefully be ready for winter. It's two strands held together, first time I have attempted it but the small swatch I did was lovely.

I need to learn to crochet though, the black centre of the poppy looks really good crocheted and my 12 year old has been doing them for me but she's currently busy doing mass production of turtles so isn't interested in doing black circles for me!

Ooh, I would be interested to know your solution for making the upside down stitch

I knot and crochet, but knit is my go to Hobby. Maybe your daughter could teach you how to make the circles

A big worry-eating frog for Knit for Nowt. He will be accompanied by a matching froglet hand puppet.
