Can I combine Aran jumper patterns to change raglan sleeves?

Knitting an Aran jumper for my son. The pattern calls for raglan sleeves which I can do. I've made the back but I think it looks a bit old fashioned and am considering ripping it back and combing with another box sleeves pattern. If I really concentrate can I do that?

Attaching pictures to show I can knit. In fact, I used to be a pretty advanced knitter. I haven't knitted for at least 30 years so I need to follow a pattern Picked this one for the design and didn't pay attention to the sleeves. I am working on the green now and finished the brown a few weeks ago.

Is it just the Aran pattern you want to change? I'm not really clear but Ravelry is of course the place to ask.

i want to keep the design but square off the sleeves. I'll ask on Ravelry. Never heard of it so thanks for that

Yea. Just choose a pattern for the sleeve and armhole shaping you want, but continue with the pattern.

If you are worried about confusing the two it might help to write out the details for the shapings.

Raglan is not old-fashioned.

Why don’t you just continue in pattern and have it as a dropped sleeve jumper rather than raglan?
