Washing a woollen stuffed toy

Any ideas how to wash a vintage knitted stuffed toy?
I'm thinking soak with gentle wool soap, rinse and then let dry. Don't agitate the wool, and definitely no heat. What do you think?

I would use a no rinse wool wash like Eucalan, and pick a sunny breezy day to hang it on the line.

Bit of gentle fabric wash, like you'd use for delicate handwash clothes. Rinse well. If sit up, sit on drying rack, otherwise peg on by ears or other squashy body part!
