Can anyone recommend a pattern for a scarf that’s soft and lightweight please ?

I’m finding all my scarves both knitted and crochet are too warm but I sometimes want something around my neck. Open to any fibre type.

Try a lace weight pure silk shawl. Looks like a scarf, but can also be spread out a bit more. Silk is good at temperature regulation.
I love BooKnits patterns for shawls on Ravelry. The Group she has set up is also very friendly and will help with all pattern conundrums.
secret fact, they look far more complex than they actually are.
you will need long circular needles and stitch markers though.
and silk yarns are easier to find than you think, each pattern lists dyers and stockists.

I would go for a 4ply sock yarn which is lighter, choose a lacy pattern or something knitted on larger needles.
