we are not being mean about knitting socks, knitting socks is fine and looks like fun.

but posting photos of your knitted socks on a blog like that, artfully posed with liquorice allsorts, is snurk-worthy

I suppose I am really more of a 'cast on' podcast fan. But I don't think she is trying to be aspirational - I just think she wants to write about what she likes doing in a harmless kind of a way.

I think the real beef was with the magazines who 'sell' this kind of stuff as aspirational...
