anyone know anything about them?

just genral curiosity, haven't got the money for one as such but I have an idea for making some erm tea towels... well obviously I would have to sorce the towel bit first and so on as I can't sew or use a sewing machine... I jsut though it would be fun and not really thought about selling anything more presents for family... I think I'm rambling on here... sorry

this is what I'm on about

loads of bloggers use them to print their own tags etc, from what i've read, they are quite easy to use. you can buy them on etsy, there is a seller who deals in them, plus supplies of ink etc. i have considered getting one too, need to replace sewing machine first though

jeangenie · 09/06/2008 10:07

I'd LOVE one!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE one

if you find somewhere to buy let me know. Am off to search etsy now. I was thinking of getting a speedball screenprint set instead as I couldn't find a stockist anywhere in UK (and have a London Graphic centre just up the road from work)but think Gocco is much cooler!

No idea what i will do with it but I really want one

meridian · 09/06/2008 11:24

on etsy

I don't know what I would do with it either really.. but I would love to decorate things... and not do one of those say tshirt printing type companies or whatever... and you know how generally rubbish fabric pens are... I haven't got the crafting cash for one jsut now anyway.. though I think it would be fun to have a go on one

if either of you get one let me know.. I may just show up on your doorstep with sketch book and cakes in hand.

have you seen how much the shipping costs on that link?, $59!

jeangenie · 09/06/2008 12:36

i know - that postage is shocking! I have a sister in the states who I am meeting in Ireland in July though...however she will be travelling alone with two small kids - do you think she'll love me forever if I ask her to carry that too?

Gingermonkey · 09/06/2008 19:26

I really really want a screenprint kit, sooooooooooo badly!!!

jeangenie · 10/06/2008 09:15

we REALLY do need this communal studio space where we can keep lots of shared equipment and learn from each other...we could have both gocco an dscreen printing set (gocco is a type of screenprint right?)

(preferably in a large country house with amazing gardens, not discounting the pied a terre in London - a loft I should think)

lucykate · 10/06/2008 09:38

oooh yes! then i can have a go on gm's new sewing machine

jeangenie · 10/06/2008 09:59

meridian · 11/06/2008 08:57

jeangenie · 11/06/2008 10:16

didn't like to ask Meridian (but was hoping you'd volunteer )

Gingermonkey · 11/06/2008 11:38

meri - I expect you bake cakes just for the sake of baking cakes (what else will we eat for tea?!)

meridian · 11/06/2008 11:59

any excuse really... I might never master any sort of sewing.. but cakes and cooking I can do.. I make a damn fine italian dinner.. and a fine thai curry too...

but cakes make me happy.. just like drawing does really...

ok, you are lady chef. I shall bring my sewing machine for everyone to play with (and maybe someone can help me with the stupidly complicated looking walking foot), JG is bringing gocco, and will teach me to knit (whether she likes it or not) LK is bringing her superior knowledge in all things sewy. Who else is coming to live in our special country house?

lucykate · 11/06/2008 16:25

errrr, johnny depp?

well, we need something to look at while crafting

mistypeaks · 11/06/2008 16:42

I'll come!!!
Chef - check
Printer - check
Knitter - check
Sewer - check
Artist - check
hmmm not sure what I can add. I'm good at ideas and I can kinda knit, sew etc. Oh pllleeeeeeeeeeasssee let me play with your toys

jeangenie · 12/06/2008 08:58

but GM I would be honoured to teach you to knit...especially as it will take you away from sewing machine and (assuming I find a toadstool large enough to knock LK senseless) I will be able to play on it...

have just been looking at properties in Devon...or do we fancy somewhere in France? would get more for our money there...

meridian · 12/06/2008 09:12

gj-- ohh france would be lovely... just imagine all the lovely french fabrics...and other lovely french crafty things... the tatered old french books for me to tear up for my painted pages... lol

we could run crafting holdays...

jeangenie · 12/06/2008 09:23

ok, I will take votes until the end of the day and then get on to my agents wherever we decide - am quite tempted by France myself - but would have to be somewhere near good flea markets

yup, liking the crafting holidays angle...and we can have pretty little children gambolling about in linens and laces to add to the charm (though we may have to hire those if my two's behaviour and taste of clothes is anything to go by )

lucykate · 12/06/2008 09:46

we should go here!

3 day workshop with julie arkell in france
