3/4 sleeves on coat - how to lengthen?

I have also posted this in S&B.

I bought a lovely wool coat on Vinted, but didn't realise it has 3/4 sleeves, and my clothes underneath get wet. I do have some long gloves but it's more about keeping sleeves dry.
I was thinking about getting a dressmaker to add faux fur cuffs, but the sleeves have a nice pleated detail at the ends, so I'm not sure it would work.
Any suggestions? I will try to add a couple of pictures.

It’s a lovely coat. If you were to cut the sleeve a bit above the you could add a section of material, and then put the end part back on. Either a similar material in a different colour or a contrasting material like a suede or velvet. You could add it in somewhere else too like the pockets, collar, or buttons.

I would make some sort of extension and fix it inside the existing sleeve. As @Deliveroo says, it could be in a contrasting fabric

That’s the make and do and mend approach that was recommended in WW2.

I wear long gloves with my shorter sleeved coats. I had some beautiful black suede elbow length gloves for years which I lost and was devastated! Have replaced with very soft black leather ones. Also have long fingerless ones, a la Winkleman.
