Craft holidays

Since DH and I have become older we have decided that our holidays would include crafts. However we’re struggling a bit.

he can knit, crochet and cross stitch, I cross stitch but do paper crafts too. We are open to most things, but he isn't ‘arty’ so isn’t into painting, I’ve done stained glass work and loved it.

Any suggestions that we might not have thought of? Happy to stay away but SW ideally, or SE.

Carry On Crafting Festival is on in Ardingly at the South of England showgrounds in early July. We camp but you hire yurts take a camper van or stay in the village. 3 days of craft classes and stalls and entertainment. My husband did a glass bead making workshop this year and there's loads of classes on everything from macrame to pottery, jewelry making and loads of textile and yarn classes. It's great fun.

Gartmore house in Scotland and West Dean place in Sussex. There are HF Hollidays but they tend to be more drawing and painting or Manor & Ashbury hotels in Devon which are led workshop or drop in based activities.

Thank you - we’ve just started cruising so this would be perfect- I would be worried they might be a bit basic for us but we’ll certainly look into it!!

Creative escapes in Spain are excellent.
