Upholstery guru needed! Button sourcing

Hi- complete novice here, currently trying to rescue boat cushions that have sat in the rain for 4 years - the covers have come through the wash ok but the buttons are mostly completely rusty. I can salvage probably a 10th of what I need . I’m trying to source replacements. My first attempts on buy online turned up today and are ok but far less robust material than the originals. These are the originals - any suggestions for where to look? I don’t need an exact colour match- advice gratefully received!

I would try getting some fabric and making buttons to match.

Is that easy to do for a beginner? I think I’ve seen an online place I could send material off to so I could look for that again. Maybe I need to go into a fabric shop and throw myself on the mercy of the women in there.

Covering buttons is super easy if you buy these (they come in different sizes) from John Lewis. They literally just click together.

JL also have loads of buttons online , you could use the filters to narrow down by size and colour

If you don't get on covering buttons there's always Duttons for Buttons online or in person in York. They have buttons for everything.(and it's fun to say Duttons for Buttons)
