Is this rude?

A lovely friend now living in Dubai but visiting the Uk, popped over to my house a few weeks ago. I’ll see her again before she heads back. I gave her one of the paintings I did but she said she wouldn’t be able to take it back and so it’s sitting at her parents house who I’ve only met once. I’m a bugger for gifting them to people but I really need to start selling them.
Would it be rude to ask for it back as she’s not taking it to Dubai?

No, I’d definitely ask for it back. Not rude

NoCowardSoul · 30/07/2025 10:10

No, I don’t think so. She’ll probably be relieved, as will her parents. Bit mad to give her something substantial sized when she’s only on holidays?

Yes ask for it back and kindly OP, only give paintings if people specifically ask you for one.

HelloHattie · 30/07/2025 11:34

Nope. Just say you’ll take it back.
